How the PELS ACE Travel Grants are Empowering Tomorrow’s Power Electronics Pioneers [Access and Engagement]

The field of Power Electronics is moving faster than ever. Driven by the global push for sustainable energy, electric mobility, and smarter grids, the demand for cutting-edge research has skyrocketed. In this rapidly evolving landscape, breaking new ground requires international collaboration and sharing ideas globally. Yet, for many graduate students and early-career researchers—especially those in developing regions—attending major international conferences remains a distant dream due to steep financial and geographical hurdles.

Recognizing this gap, the IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) stepped in with the ACE Travel Grants program. This initiative does much more than just hand out financial aid; it acts as a bridge for students and young professionals to present their work on the world stage. By opening doors to these global events, the program fosters the kind of networking, mentorship, and professional growth that can reshape a young researcher’s entire career path.
