Fuel Your Career with Technical Committees
PELS offers a range of technical activities to keep its members current and competitive in the workplace. These activities are coordinated by Technical Committees (TCs), which build knowledge and awareness of the latest technologies and other advances in power electronics.
Joining a PELS TC and becoming actively involved has many advantages. You will gain insight into the operations of PELS and have an opportunity to broaden your professional reach, enhance your career potential, and grow both personally and professionally.

Technical Committee Operations
The operation of PELS TCs is governed by Section 10 of the PELS Bylaws. As appropriate, TCs are active in all of PELS’s activities, including:
- Addressing aspects of new technologies and application areas and working with the PELS Long-Range Planning Committee
- Investigating ways to increase the active participation of its members in informative change related to the career of the TC and support standards activities
- Organizing conferences and workshops (collaborative sessions with other TCs can be sponsored and are encouraged due to the broad nature of TC activities)
- Organizing events as deemed appropriate by PELS and the TC (e.g. mini-conferences, panels, short courses, symposia, tutorials, etc.)
- Providing representatives for Technical Program Committees at PELS conferences
- Providing volunteers for professional reviews of submitted papers (e.g. soliciting assistance from among PELS members)
- Soliciting volunteers to submit proposals and serve as authors, committee members, and editors for PELS publications
