Activities
Events
TC 5 organizes the following events:
- IEEE Conference on Power Electronics and Renewable Energy (CPERE): This conference focuses on the theory, analysis, design, test, and relevant deployment of power electronics for renewable systems, including integrating renewable sources with power electronic converters and their control.
- IEEE International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (PEDG): This annual symposium delves deep into the theory, analysis, design, and deployment of power electronics for distributed generation, energy storage, and sustainable sources.
- Special Sessions for the IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC): TC 5 works with the Power Sources Manufacturers Association (PSMA) in organizing special sessions for this conference.
- Special Sessions for the IEEE Energy Conversion Conference and Expo (ECCE): TC 5 organizes special sessions for this conference and provides volunteers to manage the review process of submitted papers.
Services
Awards: TC 5 administers the IEEE PELS Sustainable Energy Systems Technical Achievement Award to recognize scholarly and original technical and scientific contributions from individuals who advance power electronics in sustainable energy systems.
Publications: TC 5 occasionally proposes special issues for different PELS publications in the areas of sustainable energy systems. TC 5 also proposes guest editors and supports the review of submissions.
Traveling Lecturer Program: This program facilitates lectures by eminent and emerging professional members who broadly disperse knowledge and increase interaction between PELS members at host institutions and local Chapter or Section events.
