Robotic Hand Demo Underscores System Integration

It seems everyone wants humanoid robots, which would take over repetitive and physically demanding tasks so workers could move into higher-skilled roles. In order for this vision to come to fruition, we need better and more efficient robotic systems. In this video, an STMicroelectronics engineer explains a robotic hand demonstration at APEC:

The demonstration highlights the need for the precise control of fine motor movements and tactile sensing in a humanoid robotic hand to enable precise, multi-degree-of-freedom manipulation. The system must also provide the sensory feedback necessary for delicate tasks such as grasping, object recognition, and human interaction.
