The IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE) conferences in North America (NA) and Europe 2025 set out with a clear mission to empower future leaders in energy conversion and power electronics. The events and awards sponsored by Women in Engineering demonstrated this mission.
The WIE events at ECCE-NA opened with a luncheon, award presentations, and a panel titled “Paths of Wisdom—Reflections from Three Mentors.” WIE Event host, Sneha Narasimhan, welcomed attendees and recognized the 27 travel grant recipients, selected from 61 applicants across 18 countries (see Figure 1). This was followed by the presentation of two Women in Engineering (WIE) Best Presentation Awards, honoring Neha Rajput from the Indian Institute of Science, India [1], and Sima Azizi Aghdam from the University of Albany, USA, who each summarized their work in a few minutes.
