PEM (Power Electronic Measurements) leverages Rogowski and Steinhaus’ fundamental principles in the company’s wide-band, clip-around, measurement technology, in both standard and custom coil sensors. In this video, a PEM engineer explains how the CWTMini50HF wide-band AC and switched DC oscilloscope current probe offers a high-frequency response for measuring currents in fast-switching power devices and converters.
The CWTMini50HF has a 50MHz (-3dB) bandwidth using a shielded clip-around coil measuring 100mm in circumference with a 3.5mm cross-section. The shield improves the performance of the current measurement in a circuit where the coil is exposed to fast dV/dt transients, as when measuring rapid current transients in a semiconductor device with a high blocking voltage. The CWTMini50HF is a wide-band current probe with a fixed 0.5m BNC output that can connect to most types of oscilloscopes or data acquisition devices.
