An Insight Into 2026 for the Students and Young Professional Committee [Students and Young Professionals Committee]

As we reach the midpoint of 2026, the Students and Young Professionals (S&YP) Committee reflects on an engaging and productive start to the year. The year began with the first S&YP Webinar, held on 25 February and titled Transient Stability Analysis and Control of PLL-Synchronized Grid-Connected Inverters for Low-Voltage Ride-Through. The webinar was delivered by Dr. Zhiheng Lin of the University of Alberta, Canada, who presented insights from his recent research in this important and rapidly evolving field (see Figure 1). The event was well attended, with more than 140 participants, and was characterized by a high level of audience engagement and technical discussion.
