About the Award
The Global Membership Development Award honors PELS members who have made outstanding and sustained contributions to the advancement of PELS membership globally.
Prize:
- Honorarium (USD 1,500)
- Plaque
- Limited reimbursement towards the recipient’s necessary conference registration, travel, and accommodation costs incurred to attend the award ceremony
How to Submit a Nominee
To submit a nominee, you will need to log into your existing IEEE account (or register for a new one) to identify as a nominator. Select the “Global Membership Development” and enter the required data and documents.
The portal to submit an application is now open and will close March 31, 2026.

Open to all members of PELS (except the PELS Vice-President for Membership and the PELS Vice-President for Global Relations). There is no restriction on affiliation, age, IEEE member grade, or nationality.
Criteria: Judgment of the award recipient will be based on the nomination and criteria, such as:
- Activities or initiatives that have substantially increased membership
- Collaboration with national associations
- Leadership of a PELS Chapter
- Regional membership growth
