To foster the timely dissemination of technical information through small- and large-scale technical events in high-performance and emerging technologies that are of high interest to PELS members and students. To encourage and provide assistance to members with common interest in emerging technologies in different areas, such as industrial applications, medical instruments, lighting technology, renewable energy conversion, and system packaging.

Events
TC 6 organizes the following events:
- IEEE International Future Energy Challenge (IFEC): This annual competition is for undergraduate students who focus on power electronic systems design.
- IEEE Workshop on Wide Bandgap Power Devices and Applications (WiPDA): This workshop provides a forum for device scientists, circuit designers, and application engineers to share technology updates, research findings, experiences, and potential applications.
Services
Awards: TC 6 administers the IEEE PELS Milan M. Jovanović Award for Power Electronics Emerging Technology to honor outstanding technical contributions from engineers and researchers for one or more emerging research topics in power electronics.
