About the Award
The IEEE PELS Outstanding Achievement Award for Contributions in Power Electronics Grid Technology recognizes innovators and researchers who have made outstanding technical contributions to allow power electronics to take a managerial role in the future electronic grid.
Award Prize:
- Plaque
- An honorarium of 1,500 USD
- Reimbursement of up to 1,000 USD towards the recipient’s necessary conference registration, travel, and accommodation costs incurred to attend the award ceremony

Eligibility: Any active IEEE members are eligible for this award. There are no other restrictions as to affiliation, age, gender, IEEE member grade, or nationality.
Criteria: Judgment of the award recipient will be based solely on the information provided in the nomination form. The criteria considered by the award selection committee are:
- Past relevant activities to the field and technical committee
- Quality of the nomination
- Quality of the technical achievement or innovation
- Sustained impact on the relevant technical community and the profession, benefit to the society
