WiPDA Asia 2019
The PELS Taipei Chapter is proud to announce the sponsorship of the IEEE Workshop on Wide Bandgap Power Devices and Applications in Asia (WiPDA Asia), which will be held at the Howard International House, Taipei, Taiwan from May 23-25, 2019. Since 2018, WiPDA-Asia has provided a forum for device scientists, circuit designers, and application engineers to share technology updates, research findings, development experience, and application knowledge.
This year, there are more than 10 keynote speakers from both academia and industry. Among the speakers, seven IEEE Fellows are invited, including past PELS presidents Hirofumi Akagi, Don Tan, and Alan Mantooth, current PELS president Frede Blaabjerg, current PELS VP Yan-Fei Liu, distinguish Prof. Jason Lai, and distinguished Prof. John Shen. Keynotes from industry include Dan Kinzer, CTO of Navitas; Sei-Hyung Ryu, a senior research scientist at Wolfspeed; Hideyuki Okita, a chief engineer at Panasonic, and Yifeng Wu, Sr. VP of Engineering at Transphorm Inc. In addition, three tutorials on high-voltage and/or high-speed power device development, implementation, and application are provided. Additionally, around 50 technical papers from 6 countries will be presented. Registration for WiPDA-Asia 2019 is now open.
