TC2 Traveling Lecturer Program

The traveling lecturer program, organized by PELS Technical Committee on Power Conversion Systems and Components (TC2), is designed to facilitate lectures by eminent and emerging members of our profession at host institutions and local chapter/section events, so as to broadly disperse knowledge and increase interaction between PELS members.

TC2 has set up the biennial workshop PwrSoC. International Workshop on Power Supply On Chip (PwrSoC) is the leading international technical workshop is focused on the integration of electrical power converters for multiple applications, and address a broad range of technologies. The complete integration on-die (PwrSoC) and integration within package (PSiP) are of prime interest. Attendees are dedicated to advancing integrated power conversion technologies. The workshop covers the integration of both modular and granular electronic power converters for multiple applications, by accessing a broad range of leading-edge technologies. System performance is challenged to meet the demand for ever-greater current density, voltage regulation and optimized control, form factor reduction, high efficiency, and cost reduction in current and emerging applications.

PwrSoC 2018 in Hsinchu

Our next workshop will be hosted by the National Chiao Tung University in Hsinchu. Professor Ke-Horng Chen, Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in NCTU will take on the role of General Co-Chair along with Prof. Cian Ó Mathúna, Tyndall National Institute, the originator of the workshop. Given the aforementioned level of current industry interest in the commercialization of the technology, it is appropriate that the 10th anniversary workshop should be held in Taiwan, the global centre of microelectronics production.

The Technical Programme Chair for the 2018 workshop is Prof. Hanh-Phuc Le, Dept. of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, University of Colorado at Boulder. Hahn-Phuc, who is a very familiar participant in PwrSoC events, will be starting to assemble a Technical Programme Committee together over the coming months. Anyone interested in participating, please contact Hahn-Phuc directly. hanhphuc@Colorado.EDU
