Invitation to Participate in “SOLAR SPLASH 2017”

Looking for a challenging and fun Senior Design Project or Special Project???

Invitation to Participate in “SOLAR  SPLASH 2017”

The IEEE/PELS Solar Splash objective is for collegiate student teams to design and construct a manned photovoltaic solar-powered boat within a school year at a reasonable cost, then compete against other college teams in a 5-day series of events.  The competition is designed to provide practical engineering experiences, development of project and program management skills, exposure to a multitude of technical disciplines, while learning the efficient use of energy and systems to create both a successful craft and competitive team -- and is fun!

You are invited to participate in the 24th annual Solar Splash, the international intercollegiate solar/electric boat regatta, planned for June 7-11, 2017 in Dayton, Ohio, and hosted by Cedarville University.  We invite your participation this coming summer as a competing team.  Or, if you can’t make 2017, by sending observers (with possible travel support!) to visit the competition in advance of your coming in 2018 or beyond.

To learn more about the Solar Splash competition and/or see some of the boats, videos, rules, history, and events, please visit our web site or contact me as listed below.  We hope you will join us at Solar Splash 2017!
