IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) Puzzlers is a recreational engineering community that solves, brain-teasers and puzzles related to the fields of interest of the society that includes the development and application of power electronic systems and technologies, which encompass the effective use of electronic components, the application of circuit theory and design techniques, and the development of analytical methods and tools for efficient electronic conversion, control, and conditioning of electric power to enable the sustainable use of energy. 

Applications of Power Electronics Include: Automobiles, Computer and Telecommunications Equipment, Consumer Electronics Products, Data Centers, Industrial and Commercial Systems, lighting, Mass Transportation, Medical Devices, Renewable Energy Systems, Space and Military Systems, Utility Power and Smart Grids and many more.

Each month we hope to deploy one puzzle (question) for the community to solve and submit their answer. If you answered the puzzle correctly your name will be included in a monthly drawing of prizes. Monthly winners will be announced and prizes will be given away either by mail or at major IEEE PELS conferences.
