Maryam Saeedifard received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada, in 2008. From 2007 to 2008, she was a visiting Research Associate with the Power Electronic Systems Group, ABB Corporate Research Center, D¨attwil-Baden, Switzerland, and from 2008 to 2009 she was a postdoctoral fellow with the Center for Applied Power Electronics in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto.
Since 2010, she has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana.
Dr. Saeedifard has been working on modeling, control, and design of high-power converters, HVDC transmission systems, and applications of power electronics in power systems. Dr. Saeedifard teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in power electronics, grid integration of renewable energy resources, and applications of power electronics in power systems. She has over 30 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications. She was awarded the ABB research fellowship in 2007 and the NSERC postdoctoral fellowship in 2008. She currently serves as an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy and as a member-at-large of the IEEE Applied Power Electronics and Expositions Administrative Committee.
